Just to throw another idea out there I have always quite fancied one of these as well (I want too many bikes), I think they look and sound badass and have brilliant reviews. Never actually seen one up close though and have heard they're a bit small but so cheap to buy, run and insure. My SR 125 was smaller and reasonably comfortable legs wise and was pretty fun for what it was. I may get one on the cheap one day as a spares / repair and do it up.

Import duty to the UK?!? Worried now, especially as I'd have to trust someone else to check it for me...  :\

Have to agree with codgie - check out Comprehensive cover as it is working out cheaper for me these days :) I went from my 600 to the 1000, TPFT to Comp and £1500 cover to £3500 cover for all of £50 extra (plus a stupid £40 admin charge) so not really that bad...

How about a xjr 400, or cb1, nice little buzzy fours, should be cheap to insure, you can pic them up for under a grand.

I have a big problem.

The 33bhp restrictor (which effectively knocks me off FZ400s too) means my insurance triples - as fewer companies will insure me. And sadly the CB1 and XJR are both > 33bhp. I'm considering a VT250 though.

Why not just buy another 600 and put the restrictors from the crashed 600 into it. It would take about and hour?

Because insurance on another 600 will set me back £1,500? And also because I can't find any Fazers for under a grand in decent nick.  :'( :'( :'(

I wish I could! Insurance on a restricted 4 is almost the same as a 6!

A Vara requires no restriction.  :D

However, good luck finding one for under a grand.  :( Shame, I'd happily take another. Great bikes.

Ha ha ha.  :2guns

This will be for commuting to work, going shopping and the occasional LoFos. I'll go mad if I have to rely on pubic transport.

The bike shop in Hatfield has one for £950. However, at £1500 insurance, it'll take several months of work (ONCE I get a job) to pay the premium, especially as that £1000 is all that's left in the piggy bank.  :'(

Amazing. That won't last! And, peversely, insurance on that is nearly double the VT250. WTF is up with that?!?
