As the thou was running quite rough on the last trip . i have taken thge plugs out for a look at them, Only one looks to be a nice colour. would a sticky exup do this?
I checked the carb balance recently so pretty sure thats ok. I'll get some new plugs in the interim as its due for some. 54

I've just had a geek this morning , the cables are free and adgustment is fine , only a little tightness in the exup spindle. I'll clean it up regrease and try out . I'm glad of the pictures because it was not obvious where the spacer washer came from

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Noisy Exup« on: 18 April 2014, 07:18:38 pm »
Just started to use my thou again . I don't have any exup tach error code but its making quite a racket, I can even feel the clacking through the footrests.
Any ideas guys. 57
General / Re: r6shock« on: 12 March 2014, 07:36:13 pm »
In my humble opinion 600's don't suffer from wallowing to the same extent as the thou. certainly not at low mileage .

First timeout "since the weird noise" on the thou today .In the interim I've checked for anything obvious . Now thinking the noise is the exup valve, no error code though! must be noisier though as my partner can hear from the pillion.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Clonking noise on drive« on: 19 January 2014, 07:27:14 pm »

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Clonking noise on drive« on: 19 January 2014, 06:57:39 pm »
Just took my thou out for the first time this year. No exup hick ups despite the 4 month lay up. but I noticed a stange clonking sound at low speed ,Seems around the chain front sprocket area , got me home alright but not investigated yet. anybody had this issue with a thou, The noise did not relate to wheel speed so I don't think its a bearing.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: fazer thou rear caliper« on: 27 December 2013, 03:31:14 pm »
I've fit a thou one to my 600 recently , main reason was that I wanted the 600 to feel similar in the braking department. I got stung by UK import duty when I imported one from the states "via e bay" at first I did not think it worth the a approx £100 , Now the pads have bedded into the disk, there is a huge improvment , I use a back brake a lot ,and now find much easier to feather the rear brake.Don't think i'd bother though if i didn't have the thou to compare it with, Payes yer money etc!

General / Re: Heated Grips« on: 23 December 2013, 01:47:34 pm »
I had some volcanic heat battery gloves , absolutely useless, lasted 40 mins if lucky. the polar 12v jackets are really good , best if you put a kidney belt over them , presses the heating elaments nearer to thge body

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Torque Arm Mod?« on: 27 November 2013, 03:26:50 pm »
At a glance the Thunderace and Thou for that matter, torque arms looks like they are made from Aluminium , I thought as much before I got one, prettier than the 600 standard article though!
Also some people refer to aluminium as alloy ! I hope this cleers the mud 71
FZS600 Fazer / Re: 600 any probs« on: 19 November 2013, 05:52:00 pm »
Most of us have double standards re mileage, I'm happy to own one at 38000 but I would not buy one
Also check the fairing infills line up properly, can be a sign of of a crashed bike 72
FZS600 Fazer / Re: Torque Arm Mod?« on: 19 November 2013, 05:44:17 pm »
Just bought one , of Motorbreath ta
The Thunderace ones look better than the 600 ones , but they are not much lighter being made of some sort of alloyed steel . so don't get one to save weight. I am quite happy with the improved apearence of the swing arm I finished it of with stainless steel allen screws, I got some extra m8 ones for my thou, "which has been badly neglected this season 73
Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: 600 to 1000.....why should i do it?« on: 16 November 2013, 07:09:39 pm »
I have a 02 600 and a 05 1000 ,The 600 has better wind protection,and in my humble opinion a better all rounder.
1000 is great 2 up, totally flattens hills. 74
FZS600 Fazer / Re: Cheap mods« on: 06 November 2013, 08:35:07 pm »
1000 shock is a good mod , I find it so good i don't see the point of going down the R6 shock route
Another cheepo mod i've done is put a switch on one of the dip headlights saving 50 watts of fuel or leaving more for heated grips etc 75
FZS600 Fazer / Re: headlamp bulbs« on: 06 November 2013, 08:26:05 pm »
If you have done the "making both lights work on dip mod" then I don't think you will gain much improvement with the box eye headlamps, you could end up melting the lens assembly by going more amps route. I tried better bulbs in my car but there was not much improvement, I suppose HID lamps are an option ,but iv'e no experience of them , expensive to !
