exhaust cat ?
« on: 13 January 2014, 08:51:28 pm »
Hi all, happy new year to all.
Took my standerd exhaust off today, and it looks like there is some kind of catalytic converter in side, there are three tubes going in to the collector box, and up the link pipe, i did not know the gen 1 had these, its a 05, Does anybody know if these can be removed, im not bothered about the exhaust and link pipe, but would loke it out of the colletor box.

Yes, there's a basic cat in the 05 collector.  I recall having a heated debate about this with the recently departed and much respected Driller.  I was wrong on that one. :)

I've never done it but I imagine you could remove the part in the collector with a bit of careful drilling and chiselling.
