Yes owned mine from new & payed £5500 including datatool S4 red alarm & picked up on 1st March 2006 so its on a 2006 plate & its running K-tech front folk springs & a re-valve kit plus a R6 shock on the rear & never had any trouble with it apart from a vibration problem with around 25000 miles on it that was only cured after i re -torqued all the engine bolts 3 times to Yamahas specification using 2 difference torque wrenches but ended up just doing all the engine bolts up with a 3/8 ratchet quite loose by hand & its been quite smooth for 10 years now but still have no idea why i had the vibration in the first place but only checked the engine bolts after putting a genuine new Yamaha chain & sprockets set on at around 25000 miles with only a very slight improvement in the vibrations but i certainly not recommending anybody else leaves there engine bolts under Yamaha torque setting but it worked for me,stay safe everyone, cheers Steve

I bought my FZS1000 brand new and had it delivered on the 1st of December 2001, but I didn't use it till the following April. I intended to keep it for 2 years but 20 years and 173,000 miles later, I still have it. I have 4 other bikes and mainly use the Fazer for Winter rides. I have serviced it myself from new, very little has gone wrong with it, apart from a couple of neutral switches, oh and crashing it 3 times [and fitting a 1200 Bandit fairing] It is still on the original clutch, wheel bearings and suspension, although the damping is well tired now. The only thing I dislike is the reluctance to select neutral occasionally in really hot weather, no problem in winter! For me it's probably the best bike I've owned, and there's been a lot!
