If you look at the ignition in the 98 wiring diagram http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?action=down...iew;down=8
The diagram shows a connection between the blue wire coming off the ignition and the black wire going between the alarm and the ignitor. Is that connection a mistake?

Looking at the diagram, I canot see a blue wire coming from the ignition. I can see a black wire that connects to the black wire to the igniter/alarm
There's a blue wire L coming out the bottom of the ignition in the diagram. The diagram shows a connection between the blue wire and the black wire going between the alarm and the ignitor. I'm just wondering if there should be a connection there or is there a mistake in the diagram? It looks like a mistake to me but I'm not sure
I think the black is a ground going back to the ignitor. That black connects to the black directly below it in the alarm. So it's a ground when the side stand is up and the key is on. The blue is 12V coming from the light switch and going to the tail light. I don't know why you would connect the light switch 12V to the ignitor ground. Wouldn't that just short the light switch? I added a pic of the connection.

Nice one. When I was trying to figure out how the alarm is connected I saw that and thought that's a funny loop :lol Now that you pointed it out, the way it was drawn it would make the connection through the alarm pointless because the ground from the starter switch already goes straight to the cut-off relay :lol
I think there might be another small mistake on the black and white diagram. See the female connector going to the fuel pump? It says L/Y and B/Y, I think it should say L/B and B. And the female connector on the sidestand switch says L/Y and B/Y and it should say L/Y and B
I noticed that last night when looking at the diagram, it is wrong also on the 00-01 supplement, but codes are correct on the 02-03 supplement.Looks like somebody did a copy and paste and forgot to change the codes :lol :lol :lol
You can almost follow what the engineer did when he was making the schematic. Copy this, move that there, biff baff boff job done I'm off home see yas on Monday :lol 21 years later......does that connection look right to you :deal :lol
