Fz1n disc bolt size?
#1
Anyone know the size, pitch etc of gen 2 front and rear brake disc bolts? I need to reaplce them all with stainless and dont see the need to pay stupid money for 'motorbike' ones when any high tensile stainless bolt will do the same job.
Thanks

Might be easier to take one out and measure it

I'm not doing the work. I'm having it done at a garage so need to buy them before I take it in

Hmmm. High tensile stainless. Not sure about that. Come on the metallurgists Smile

If they are anything like the Gen1 the bolts have relatively large diameter shoulders that slot into the disk carrier.  Seeing as a set of SS bolts is only around £25-£30 is it worth having ill fitting bolts in?  Unless you can get bolts like that of course, if so have you got a link?

Last time I did a set of discs I bought oem bolts, you could try probolt website maybe they will list the size.

Yeah I'm thinking oem now as I can't find any replacements other that on fleabay and I wouldn't trust anything off there
Looks like I'll have to fork out the £80 for a full set ??

I've had a few sets off ebay. After 50k miles they still looked new when I sold the bike. Put some rear ones on my current fazer when I put an r1 rear wheel on. They are great.

Go with the eBay jobs, stainless or titanium, cheap enough and the right shape too
