Finally talked Drew into doing his bike test so decided to look for a cheap 125 - like I had. Paid about £100 for it.
Bloody hell - what happened to the prices?! The only 125 under £500 was a write off with bits missing. Most of 'em were over a grand!
My 50cc cost £85, The 125 cost about £110 and the 250cc was around £200!
Prices have risen since the 60s
Bitch lol. I'm not that old.
Well bloody BREXIT has shoved the price of new bikes up. :'(
Seems motorbikes are more popular than almost ever, so maybe pushing up prices of used starter/learner bikes.
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
I don't know where they've all gone but I know where they all come from....China and they are throw away bikes that don't survive the winter in this country.
To be honest there are plenty of ways to get a good bike cheap as long as your willing to fork out for a good one.
For example when I was learning I bought a used Honda cbr125 for £2000, rode it 18months then did my test and sold it on for £1600 so effectively it only cost me £400 and was a bludy good bike.
Where as my brother bought a sinnis bago'crap 125 for £1200 new and only got £300 back for it 12 months later
Its because too many people think anything old is a " classic " and want silly money for any old nail.
