Citizen corbyn strikes again don't ya just love him.

Loony left socialism strikes again
I wonder how long it took his ridiculous mind to come up with that winner or is it a variation of that 70's labour mantra of direct taxation of successful people ,84 p in the pound on earnings over 20k (185k in today's money)
Not sure about the colour of the sky but yet again that twat is on a different planet

He's calling May's bluff. Her 'Big Idea' is vapour and meaningless. She's said she wants to level things up but hasn't come up with any substance at all. He's daring her to disagree with this, to show her policies are all empty promises.

Heres a first,  I sort of agree with with the statement the big idea is meaningless it's a re hash of the big society but just as pathetic , but as to him calling her bluff I don't think so,  imo he's trying to tap into the wave of political unrest and thinks socialism is the way to do it , further down the article he reveals he wants stand on the southern rail picket lines which shows his true colours as a militant socialist and not in touch with reality by coming up with an idea that would ensure 95% of successful entrepreneurs and executives go elsewhere.
The 1970' s are calling , they want corbyn back where he belongs with Harold Wilson
Additionally no one else in his shadow cabinet knew about this and labour MPs are not too enthusiastic about it either glad to see he talks to his shadow cabinet before he opens his gob

You mean Southern Rail, that company which gets the same money from the taxpayer whether or not they run any trains, and has no incentive to end the strikes? The joys of non socialist 'free market' privatisation ?

you seem to forget how shit British rail was back in the 70s , fully nationalised and truly shite and neglected by all governments left or right they all took the money and put none of back in , probably used it to prop up all the other failed, money losing nationalised industries.
However how can you strike over a practice that has been deemed as safe by the independent rail inspectorate, AND is in use on other southern services AND will not mean any redundancies. Sounds like the public getting fucked over by the unions and southern but Corbyn should be pushing the unions and southern for resolution not revolution I'm sure the commuters will take comfort that comrade corbyn is there standing side by side with his militant  brothers and union puppeteers round a hot brazier drinking tea while they're struggling to get to work..to pay taxes to pay him that £138,000 a year plus expenses

I must admit, I struggle to take in anything he says.  My brain can't get past the fact he looks like he's been sleeping in his car and he dresses like a clown. I find it a joke that he wants to be a representative on the world stage. He's always struck me as a bit of a twat and the scandal with him sitting on the floor of a train, has meant I see him in an even lower light. I dont get it?!

More recently, I'm not forgetting how bad Railtrack was, or National Express running East Coast. Both so bad they had to be nationalised.

I see that he is now changing his tune on the whole freedom of movement thing.
Also I have noticed that in interviews he always talks with his head cocked sideways - have look next time and see.
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

Yes Railtrack now network rail and east coast now run by virgin and not a bad service when I went up north recently , train clean , on time , decent toilets , £10 to upgrade to 1st free Tea and coffee and drinks ,lunch and snacks and a paper to read as well as wifi , I wonder how it would've been if it was still British rail. I also find it funny how labour in recent times bantered on about re nationalisation and also decided on a pro Europe stance ( except corbyn who for years was anti eu until becoming labour leader then he sort of was ,then wasn't then kept his head down about it and now he's sort of both ) however EU laws regarding railways completion and cross border rail competition wouldn't allow re nationalisation so all the time were in Europe they couldn't anyway.

What we have today is socialism for the rich.  A world in which the more you earn the less you pay in terms of % of your income.
Big corporations don’t pay any tax, so they can pay their rich shareholders big dividends, while small business owners better not miss one penny due of their business tax.

It’s a world where a minimum wage has become the standard wage, and people working full time can hardly support themselves never mind their family, that’s if they can get decent hours now that many employers have them over the barrel of a gun with zero hour contracts.

Meanwhile the tax payer steps in to subsidise the big rich companies that won’t pay their workers enough to live on with in working tax credits and other such nonsense.  The public have also opened food banks for those who now find themselves starving in the UK in 2017.

Back on Rich street, the rich have the added benefit of extended ISA’s, capital gains tax allowances and property investment dodges to make sure all the cash they didn’t pay any tax on is now making them a nice tax free income.

And of course experts like Sir Fred Goodwin, who blew our economy to kingdom come (who admitted that no, he wasn’t a banker and was just kinda making it up as he went along) is drawing a pension of 350,000 quid a year, which in reality is being paid by us – the tax payers.

And oh yes.  There are subsidised train companies whose directors are paid a fortune and indeed even though they effectively loose money (subsidised!) they still pay a dividend.  Dividends paid to the rich by us the tax payer.

Then of course there is the East Coast line.  Bailed out by the government, run as a national concern, turned it round into a big success – so what they they do?  They sold it off and it’s gone to the dogs again.

Yup who needs Jeremy – everything is just fine.

I wish I was on the minimum wage!!!! try getting by on a state pension. Min wage for 25 and over £7.50 per hour from April 2017. So if you are LUCKY enough to work a 40 hour week that is £300 a week. State pension works out at £155.65 a week. Okay I hear you all going as a pensioner you do not need as much. How many on this forum are not still supporting there Adult children ??? The whole fecking country is bollocked. For once I think I nearly am in agreement with VNA(nearly)
Zero hours contracts!!!! should be made illegal. Slavery was abolished in 1833.

Unfortunately, zero hours contracts do suit some people. Students for one, can have a contract and a job to come back to in the holidays but not have to work during term time.

Doesn't suit people who have a family or need to pay bills though.

Network Rail is of course a nationalised industry. Necessary because the rail infrastructure needs continuous national maintenance and upgrading in order for train companies to deliver. Railtrack, could not provide this in a million years.

National Express walked away from a major Inter City line, part way through a contract because they were incapable of making a profit even on this line and despite prices increases above inflation. It was taken into public ownership by East Coast which made a profit. Despite this the government gave the franchise to a Stagecoach/Virgin combination. I travel on this line a lot between London and Edinburgh or Newcastle. I can assure you the service is worse under 'Virgin' and the prices are higher.

Of course most of our railways are state owned. Unfortunately it's the German state, the Dutch state and the French State. They are very pleased that the profits they make from us go to subsidise their own national rail networks  :rolleyes

Hang on a minute Lew. If you're on £155.65 divided by 0 hours work, your hourly rate is ........ infinity. Just the kind of ridiculously high pay Corbyn wants to cap  Big Grin
