How times have changed. In the mid sixties when I lived at RAF Northolt, I use to ride that stretch of the A40 up to the Ace cafe on my Triumph Speedtwin. You youngsters don't know what you missed Big Grin

Nice heads up Darrsi, wasn't aware in the slightest. To be honest that's a complete and utter bitch of an idea. Can't they just ask for a whip round instead.

Add that to the new "Cyclists Super Highway" being built along Embankment/Upper Thames Street and it won't be long before driving anything petrol powered into London will be a nightmare.

:think  Use the train to get in - oh wait, forgot - they're bolloxed, unreliable, cramped and feckin expensive.
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

Are they front or back facing ?

Back facing,  except the one's around Hanger Lane, noticed them last week coming back through the city from Ruislip.
Only noticed the cameras as far as White City though.  If they do go all the way to Paddington, I'm focced.  :lol

Edit.....  Just came back that way from Northolt and yes there is one right at the end of the flyover at Paddington. I was the only vehicle on it. Two and three lanes of empty flyover and you are restricted to 40 mph.  :rolleyes It's enough to go in the "what gets your goat " thread.

My managing director got the above card printed up (front & back), it obviously pissed him off 'cos he's been handing them out to staff and film crews at work, or anyone that visits.

Thanks for that, Darrsi. Useful to know.
I see from the link that my route, the A316 from the M3 to Hogarth, is affected too.

Another line in there, regarding red light cameras, caught my attention:

"In addition to enforcing against "red light running", these new cameras can also monitor and enforce against vehicles breaking the speed limit while going through green traffic lights..."

So accelerating through an amber to avoid the wait isn't going to end well.

Starting to pop up on the North Circ now, don't think they're active just yet but it won't be long.  :rolleyes
