1. are there any of you out there and 2. any in the south east..?
I ask because I would like if possible to see what k-tech front-end enhanced FZS1000 rides like before I splash out £350, I have multi-bike insurance which covers riding other bikes.
If you're considering spending that kind of money personally I'd be looking at an R1 USD conversion. You'll probably have better luck finding someone who has done this than the K-Tech cartridge kit.
I've had K-tech modded OE forks on mine before fitting the R1 front end (also with K-tech internals).
I'd say first of all that the difference in geometry alone makes the R1 option my preference - much quicker steering. However, if it's ride quality improvements you're after then you'll not be disappointed with the K-tech OE option and that is a lot less hassle to engineer than grafting on the R1 forks.
what are you trying to achieve?
i found that a spring and oil wt change was enough to wrestle the beast into submission.
at 14st you are too heavy for the rear spring, so that may be affecting the handling as well.
from experience i've found it's often 1 step forward, then 2 back with suspension settings as something as simple as the way the bike loads up the front can screw things up.
have you dropped the forks/raised the rear as well?
just to confirm that i do know a bit.......here's 2 piccies. 1st is ideal tyre wear
mine from oulton pk
The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money!
