Anyone using End of Bar mounted mirrors here - and dropped the faired ones?
I know i can get some screw in mirrors that locate into the level assemblies...but what are the mirrors that screw on the end of the bars like - in terms of visibility, if they were all you had?
I think the general consensus is (and I am in agreement also ) is that they look crap, on our bikes at least, but are you ditching the fairing - on my (98 )bars I have a screw thread for bar mounted mirrors as well
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
not ditching the fairing right now - the headlight loom is going to need re-wiring and i want to ride it soon so its on hold
i will stick with some normal mirrors mounted on the lever assemblies - only issue there is the right one is threaded so may need to get a new one - i.e. master cylinder assembly

Aren't they meant to be threaded? but one will be left handed and other will be right handed, well that's the way they've been on previous bikes of mine, would imagine it's the same on fazer

I've been using bar end mirrors for the past 8 years or so on my R1's, but never a Fazer.
Gotta admit, they're the best rear view of any mirrors I've ever used, and bar mounted ones have always been very vibey for me.
Bar ends are not the best looking, but probably the best I've used. If you get some, try and get the Oberon type with convex lenses. There are some chinese copy ones out there which are very good.
Only problem is they don't come ready to fit to standard bars. You'd have to do a bit of creative engineering to get them to fit. Or get a pair of Renthals! 8)
sorry sinto - i mean xthreaded - its nackered i can screw into it a little bit i.e. few turns then you feel it bite and if you look inside you can see the thread is disrupted
Unless i can do somethnig like drill it out and put a coil in that is the correct size again - but with it being the unit that has the master brake cylinder assembly integrated into it i am not keen....
I can get a second hand one for 25£ - but no rush now
regards the bar end mirrors, IF i do eventually street the bike, which i want to do - i will look at the bar end mirrors and thanks for the advice on the make
You should maybe just go straight for the bar end mirrors, would it be worth your money and hassle to get a mirror when your going to change anyhow?
Mirrors are only there for helping you see behind you, and I'm sure they aren't an mot fail, but if you have them on then they must be in working condition for mot, crazy foccin rules, but anyway, that's why you should be doing lifesavers anyhow

Hi mate my fazer is street fightered I have screw in mirrors bar mounted hate them
Don't look right haven't got round to changing
Them yet but bar ends are on the long list of things I wanna change
You've got to physically look up onto the top of your lid almost uncomfortably to see into the mirror, but the view is superb.
The only problem is that it doesn't satellite your head actions like looking in wing mirrors does, letting those drivers that are aware what you might do next.
I wouldn't trust it, fine for nice big touring roads in the USA or the like but not here where you have to be like a foccin owl to keep an eye on those cage driver's we have on our roads :groan

I had to move my arms or shoulders to use the OEM mirrors. I don't think the bar end mirrors look the best, but i don't think they look bad either. Just got some cheap chinese EBAY ones to try out in case i didn't like them/they sucked but they are actually really good. Work well, can glance in them and NOT just see myself. Yeah.
