what is this wire for?
#1
Hi guys .I have a wire coming out of my clocks which has been snipped off. (see pic) The only thing not working when i bought the bike (as a project)  was the speedo , the previous owner told me that was down to a sensor . if that being the case i assume the snipped wire could be from an alarm that has now been removed- I would be grateful if anyone could have a look and see if they have a similar single wire coming out of the clocks and if so tell me where it goes? my bike is on a 04 plate by the way..

I've just had a look at the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual and there's a yellow wire which links to the High Beam light.

Does that work on yours?

Hi Graham thanks for replying.the bike came with a different fairing fitted but yes had both high/low beam  working..  previous owner had bodged a lot of bits trying to make a streetfighter- his words not mine-  I guess as it starts going back together  i'll find out what to do with it.. I have just bought a manual off ebay so will have a good read through when it gets here.. mick

Sorry, I may not have explained clearly. I didn't mean does the bike switch between Low and High Beam, but: "does the blue High Beam light illuminate on the instruments when you switch the Beam on?"

I think that's what that wire may connect to.

I cant remember if i had the blue light- I only had quick ride then started taking it apart. Makes sense though , I took the clocks off yesterday to get at the rusty bracket but  looking at wiring connections on fairing lights (its a puig one with two lights-one above other) there is no other connection for this wire so i guess he just  snipped it off. should be easily sorted when i put it back together... Thanks for your help.. mick
