So after dropping the bike at slow speed most of the repairs have been done save the front bracket/fairing frame/subframe/headlight frame .. no idea what you call it.
Noggy is looing at one of his lying around (nice guy) but I was thinking that the reason these come on the market/into hands is that a bike had been broken down/braking and the reason you might get hold of one - typically - is that the provider got rid of it because it was bent. Nearly new straight ones are hard to come by - I've not seen any.
I've tried fettling with hammering rubber mallet around the frame, using long 2x2 to bend the frame, poles, but no matter what I do when I put the nose ABS back on and fit the mirrors, the cockpit is tilted/twisted around vertical and horizontal axis , and the mirrors - well one is higher than the other ... all not by much but enough to do my tits in riding.
These things are such a strange shape anyway & i think the front is supposed to be slightly concave bit IMHO i would say that this one has had a stationary topple.
Still useable & it wont translate to much with the fairing but it aint straight i dont reckon.
Id be interested to see what a straight one looks like though as I've got a funny feeling that they're a bit weird looking as standard.
I think this is one for the future when they become rare as rocking horse shit rather than a nice new one presently.

thanks noggy - what a shame you went to all that trouble with the pics. I think mine is pretty much the same as yours there. Not much out, but enough to translate in the twisting of the plastics and raising one mirror higher up and more forward , than the other. Its doesnt take much. If I had a bench, vice and blowtorch it might be easier - alas I possess none of these.
I'm going to give mine a few more trys then , this time with a heat gun to soften the metal before I lumphammer it :lol will come back here and provide an update

I'm heading the same way me things ... effort and patience with time as well (fitting, check, remove plastic and mirrors, bending frame, refit plastics/mirrors, check, remove again, bend, fit, remove, ...and so on)

For anyone who tries this, dont bother - i focd around all day yesterday, had front end off , clocks out , spirit levels on the frame and tape measured up, fairing on and off seven times ... no joy, still not lining up straight. focd off so went here and got a new one delivered for £60 after a hour or so with google translate ! http://www.motobouracky.cz/

edit: I've got the level across the top of the bracket, but it is not set square ... the left hand side corners are different distances to the right when measured from the centre yolk mount point. I thought I had measured it up but when the plastics are all back on, the l/h side is defo closer (twisted) than the r/h side. Arggh. And it only took me whole of Saturday. I'm trying to ordered one from some supplier in Czech Republic , a site a pal at work uses - he is czech - but he is now on holiday and I'm struggling with the language barrier. I thought I'd ordered one but got a focin email from them today which doenst make sense when I throw it into google translate. So I'm still looking for a new one at the right price.

I had already asked that fleabayer if the item was unbent, untiwsted, straight and true. The response, albeit detailed, was effectively "I don't know". I have also contacted other fleabayers who were listing similar items. I am making progress with a new item from overseas so no real rush.
As for buying crap from a dodgy trade as suggested above - try your luck - it won't be me that's out of pocket - fool :nana
