Damper rod....am I missing something
#1
Hi all...changing my fork seals an bushes etc on my 2001 FZS 600 box eye. When fitting the damper rod and tightening it just gets stuck and doesnt slide as it should. Am I missing something totally here? It seems logical that if I tighten the bottom bolt the inner tubing cant move, but it should...stumped.

I followed the guide on this forum together with the manual.

Can anybody help?

Cheers

Should the yellow plastic washer/grommit be wedged into the bottom of the stanchions (like it is when I pulled it out of the slider) or should this be on the bottom of the slider. Is this what stops the movement? Can I pry these out or leave them? Cant find this problem aywhere else on the forum.

Come on Foccers...who can help?

If  I have understood right....when re-assembling the forks they are stuck in the fully compressed position and wont budge........I have excatly the same problem a few weeks ago, pulling whats left of my hair out untill another foccer helped out.....this is normal.put the forks back in the yokes and give the forks a  a good old tug.....they get stuck in the fully compressed position....it does mention it in the guide  but I missed it as well  :o....let us know how you get on  Wink
One, is never going to be enough.....

Thanks for the reply Red! The yellow plastic thing in the bottom of the stanchion is supposed to stop it grounding out on the slider! (saw it on youtube where they said it just gets stuck) Anyway I managed to pry it out and finish it. However a good tug would probably have done the job too!
Weird that this part is not shown in the manual!
