Afternoon,
I think I need to go shopping for some new summer gear as I can't take any more. When it's over 25 my padded textiles turn into a sweat pit after 2 mins of riding, even in a T-shirt and Y-fronts, I don't want to wear leathers so what gear have you lot got that gives you protection but doesn't bake you like a potato?
Cheers...Buzz
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines...
BMW light armour suit--the bees knees in this hot weather.
I go jacketless around town.
I do have a perforated leather Hein Gericke jacket I used to use on ride outs / track days. Quite effective. I don't use it any more (family commitments) so perhaps should sell it in this heatwave!
ATGATT - Although I do curse myself for sticking to that mantra on days like today, but accidents happen on hot days too! And I'm sure that I sweat off the weight when I'm wearing full gear, at least that's what I tell myself! LOL
Money doesn't buy happiness, but it buys beer, and that helps!
I typically adhere to ATGATT as well, though have you tried textile trousers such as Kevlar Jeans? Can't be as bad as leather...
Sorry for being a thick twat but wot does ATGATT stand for???????
Base layer, with leather jacket and trousers. Sounds mad but the base layer helps a lot with both hot and cold weather. It's from Decathlon and intended for skiing. Stops your kit getting stinky too.

shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. I don't ride the bike when its this hot, I take the airconditioned car instead.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again
Lid - Shoei multitec (flip up)
Gloves - Richa summer glovers plenty of vents
Jacket - Frank Thomas summer jacket plenty of vents both induct and exhaust

Keep it simple......stupid..!!!
Living in Spain at this time of the year it is early morning or late evening rides. But to be honest the bike does not get a lot of use in the summer months. I do have a Hein Gericke airtex type Jacket & Trousers, also have Hood Kevlar Jeans, still end up with sweating like hell.
The airtex trousers sadly no longer fit me, since I have retired I have become a right fat twat. :lol :lol :lol.
I will just not allow myself to ride in Shorts & Tee shirts all be it very tempting, the thought of the gravel rash is enough to make me wise up
MT-09 Tracer for those who no longer can handle a BIG boy Fazer
A pair of saw off Levis and sandals and no T shirt or helmet, well it was 1972! and I was young and stupid?
Just ridden home,18 miles of stop/start traffic....boots, jeans that I had been working in , gore tex jacket with vents and hjc arrow helmet which is well vented and I can feel a cool breeze across the top of my thinning crown......hottest part...my arms.......jeans sticking to my legs but if I ride with knees wide apart I get a cool rush of air .......dosnt help on the corners but it keeps me cool :loll
One, is never going to be enough.....
I must say the kevlar/cotton jeans are good for the heat, i dont know how much protection i would get from gravel slide. :eek
My leather jackets seem quite good.
An ageing test pilot for home grown widgets that may fail at anytime.
I've got an RST Ventilator 3 suit.
Never worn the padded fleece in the trousers and only use the fleece lining in tge jacket in the depths of winter.
The waterproof/windproof membrane is fairly quick to add/remove.
I have been caught out in the rain a couple of time but mostly ok.
My only boots are sidi b2 goretex but my feet sweat in anything so don't bother with summer boots.
It's about as close to wearing a long sleeved t-shirt and jeans as you can get, but still have the protection.
I've tried kevlar jeans but haven't found any I think look like a normal pair, both fit and colour-wise, of regular jeans.
Shoei with the visor open and the tinted visor dropped.
