Hi from new oldie
#1
Been back on here a while but never got round to introducing myself again. As you can gather ive been on here before but that was a few years ago. I'm from Hereford, live in Swindon & work at Brize Norton. I've had 7 Fazers in total, 2 600s & 5 gen1 1000's. In between the various fazers I've had 2x hornets, Bandit 600, CBR600, R6, R1, SV1000 & GSXR1000K2. My current bike is a silver gen1 1000 with Akrapovic, R&G mushrooms, LSL handlebar clamps, Renthals, Zero Gravity screen, heated grips, belly pan, hugger & top box as its currently in 2up/touring mode. For solo use I fit street fighter screen, mirror blanks, bar end mirrors & remove the top box. I've got some Gilles to go on which get adjusted depending on which mode it's in but I need to buy some new bearings before fitting them again.
That's why I love the fazer, it can be transformed from one mode to the other in less than an hour & the difference is really noticeable, it's not the best at either type of riding but it is better than me at both. It's starting to feel like a heavy bike to me now but I'd rather go to the gym & get fitter than sell it again now. (I'm 56 you know).
Getting the suspension sorted is my next goal as the rear is too soft which makes it run wide on corner exit.
Here's looking forward to many years together.

Hi gerryad, just about summed the gen 1 up there. That's why I love mine. As you say within an hour it can be transformed from a comfortable tourer to a more than capable scratcher. Two boxes ticked without having to own two bikes.
