Knocking front forks
#1
Hi,  I recently removed the front forks so I could spray them which turned out really well, very please with them....but after I refitted them, the front end knocks when I go over bumps, large or small.
All the bolt are tight and I've tried altering the adjustment on top of the forks.
Any ideas what it could be?
Many Thanks

The forks could be bottoming out at either end of travel.  Possibly low on fork oil.

Thanks for the reply.
It doesn't look like it's bottoming out. It was ok before I removed the forks and I didn't see any oil leaking out.
Does having the forks upside down while spraying them effect them?

Is there something I could of upset by removing them?

Make sure the front wheel spins freely if the brake pads are not releasing in the calipers can cause a knocking noise.

Worth checking head bearings too. Might have loosened off a bit with forks going in and out

The head bearing nut on top had somehow worked loose, few turns with a spanner and all is good again.
Thanks.
