My rear tyre needs changing for mot (FZ6 07 plate) , I fitted Bridgestone BT021 after the originals wore out but front 021 only did 1500 miles and started to break up -shredding rubber (tyre fitter said it was a fault he was having loads of em ) so changed to Bridgestone 023,s but I considering a dual compound tyre on rear now for better wear , anyone tried one ?
Im gonna need it to be compatable with the front 023 , are they more expensive , whats best prices for them ?
If your shredding your tyres after 1500 miles there's a good chance your suspension is set up wrong.
The BT 23s are dual compound, or am I missing something?
There are indeed several on the market, including the ones you've got (as hightower pointed out).
So if there's a faulty batch out there, Bridgestone are giving you a load of money back, and issuing a recall, yes?

I recently put PR3's on mine, I've now done 3.5k miles and they look hardly worn at all!
But I think tyre wear is more about how you ride.
My pr3 on the back developed a stepped wear pattern on the sides after 2000 miles. Michelin said it was down to low pressure or soft suspension. Got a pr4 on the back now, hope it wears better or I'll ditch the pear for another make.
Last three sets I've bought have been PR2s. Of the one set I've finished off (two are still on bikes) I got 21k out of the front. The rear would've done the same but was written off by a puncture. Thats mostly I a straight line on an fzs600.
My last kawasaki had avon storm 2's, and ive got them on the fz6 now, i definately recommend them.
I've had 021s, 023s and now have Pilot3s. Not much to put between the last two but I feel very slightly more confident with the pilots leant over in wintry conditions - plus they were on a deal at my tyre bay (Burwins, Islington) at the time.
