So yesterday myself and two friends caught the train to Bletchley to pick up me new home (canal boat)
I was going to wait until lunch time to crack open the first can but that went out the window as soon as we stepped aboard.
A couple of locals informed me they had rescued it for me the previous night as it pulled out its moorings, oops.
So the journey was from Bletchley to Berkhamsted, something that takes me 25 minutes on a/b roads on the bike, well we were confidently informed we could not do the journey in one day!
Well balls to the wind we set off with beer cans in hand.
At about 12pm two more mates met up with us at Leighton Buzzard and jumped aboard with two boxes of beer and cider,
Pizza in the oven only then realising I have no cutlery on board to cut it with, so made do with a handy piece of wood.
By the third lock we had our first accident, my mate decided to headbutt the ratchet pin- from everyone we asked they've never heard of it being done before, lol

We plodded on regardless whilst a headache descended on my mate, not long after we went aground but managed to get free with the awesome power of bow thrusters (check me)
At 6pm two more mates met us at Cheddington and came onboard with a big plate of sandwiches and more beer, an hour later my last passenger joined us at tring, making a total of eight of us sailing down the cut, the rear of the boat held all of us comfortably!
About half an hour later one of my mates jumped from the verge into the front of the boat knackering his ankle, I'm pretty sure the two bottles of port he drank to himself was more the cause!
After lots of drinking and a long arsed day we made it into berko and moored up at 9.30pm - just in time to get down the pub for the boxing!
Went down this morning and it was in the same place we left it which is always a good start to the day.
Time do a bit of cleaning then watch the motogp!
