Oil feed?
#1
Hi all

How easy should it be to get the oil feed (the small metal pipe that runs up the height of the engine, past the downpipes) on? Mine is refusing to line up on the bottom banjo bolt. And can I get away with bending it a bit to make it fit? I reckon it's about 5mm out (from middle to bottom: top to middle line up great)

Sould be easy to refit, has it been kicked around in a parts box? Might be a bit out of shape, if you can't get yours to fit I have a spare you can have..

Thanks for the offer!

I don't suppose you could post a pic of what it looks like on the engine? Just want to make sure I'm not being a giraffe and trying to mount it upside down or summat similarly daft.

Only one way for it to go...

When I put me head back on it was fiddly to line up. It seemed a few mm out, but also probably fiddly getting hand in between engine and frame. Perseverance got me there

Thanks for that Tony. Unfortunately, that's exactly what I thought.

Hightower: I had another go at it this evening, and it simply refuses to fit. I was trying to line up the bottom banjo with the middle holder (I don't have a top banjo, Muggins seems to have lost half the hardware for this bike before I got it  :rolleyes ), and it simply refused to go. The barrels and head are replacements from Deefer, the sump is original. I might see if I can beg a few off Deefer, and see which one fits best.

Actually, I think what I did was install the top and bottom banjos first, and then lined up the middle mount - not sure if that would make a difference, but you'll need another banjo before you can try anyway by the sounds of it  :rollin  Good luck
