Belly pan, or not to belly pan?
#1
I picked one up the other day, but it's REALLY big for a belly pan, and I'm more of a subtle type of guy. Apart from the obnoxiously bright yellow, the bike is quite subtly done IMO.

What do you think? It'll be a post-winter thing though, as I'm not willing to remove my engine bobbins to fit it, and don't really want to cut massive holes in it.

Alternatively, if anyone has a smaller one they want to swap for it, I'd be up for that. My bike is a daily, so I need it to be easy! This piece of kit is brand new, never been fitted! (sorry the bike is FILTHY, it happens living in the countryside!)

I think you need a yellow one!

I think black looks ok but i also agree that a smaller more acute angled one would be better.

this one would suit the smoother lines of a fox eye 600 and you'll no doubt find it very easy to sell.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

If you want to sell it, I'm on the look out for one! Smile

My opinion is if it doesn't look right it isn't right and that don't look right.....looks like the bottom half of a full fairing.....Christo I'd wait before you start shelling out on cosmetics until yours is mechanically sound and handling correctly

Is that a Thou pan on a 6?

Bbb - you're right. But there's good news on the engine.

It's a Skidmarx pan for an FZS600 (it states '2002' on the package, but there's no difference) - no longer on their website, but it comes with their instructions and fitting guide and bolts etc. And if you want to buy it from me, you can. Collection preferable though, it's rather sizeable.

The two questions are where and how much?

Near Oxford, and £50. Preferably I'd just swap it for a smaller one, but it's better use to someone, than sat around!

I can clean it to perfection, and then do a single journey to and from work the following day, and it looks like that again. Definite downsides to countryside! So I don't :p

I don't think that the brown engine is helping matters at all, the colour combination is causing a bit of a diversion.

Can anyone on here colour the belly pan in yellow just to see what it'll look like?

Look at the shape of it, I really doubt that belly pan was designed for that model of bike.

It is, however, very equivocal of Exup's belly pan. I reckon it's been mislabelled somwhere along the line, I've seen Skidmarx products before, and they're generally pretty close to the bike.

The paperwork, as supplied with the bellypan. As for 'close to the bike' - it wasn't fitted, I propped it up using a bar/socket and my engine bobbins :p

Looks nothing like:

EDIT:

I'm definitely right: look here:

Ignore the extra fairing and the rad guards, that is a spitting image of what you have. If you bought it direct from Skidmarx, ask why they sent you the wrong one!!  :lol

Good spot, it's almost the same! I'd already been on their website and not seen it, but that might explain it.

It's now in the for sale section. I've edited that advert about 5 times in the last 10 minutes, should be accurate now! I didn't buy it from them directly, no, but I would like a smaller one, if anyone wants a swap.

Looking again, it looks like the FZS1000 has a bigger cut out, but I'm not sure. I reckon an email to them with the photos would go some way to solving this mystery!  :thumbup
