Spark Plug Caps
#1
Who's doing what with spark plug caps? I'm thinking of putting the NGK straight caps on (no problems, just precautionary maintenance) but what happens to the OE circular seals? I assume they serve a purpose but are integral to the stock caps. I wonder if they could be modded to fit over the leads above the new plug caps??

The seals are moulded as part of the cap, so no obvious or easy way of moving them over to NGK caps.

Water in the plug recesses is supposed to drain via a channel leading to the hole on the left side of the head but I wouldn't rely on that myself.

so what would you do?
a) butcher the obsolete caps to fit the bungs on the ht lead above the plug
b) not bother with the NGK caps
c) do without the bungs?

answers on a postcard  (sorry if 'butchering' isn't in your vocabulary Mike I mean 'modify') :rolleyes

Me?  I'd not bother trying to move the seals from the OE caps to the NGKs as I don't think it's viable.  I'd not go with the NGK caps because Id' be concerned about water in the plug recesses.

Instead, I'd dismantle the OE caps to clean the internal contacts and trim the plug leads on refitting.
