no heating....

woke up this morning and no heating...hot water ok though...traced the fault to a blown "central heating control" in the airing cupboard....looks a bit burnt and iam surprised we did`nt hear it go.....its a drayton tempus seven about 18 years old,looking at b + q thares lots to choose from and a dont know which one i need.......any experts out there ?
One, is never going to be enough.....

I used to fit these occasionally, but not anymore due to Part P.

Screwfix do sell a Drayton 7-day tempus:

Easy to fit, usually 6 or 4 wires depending on whether there is a thermostat.

Only do it if you are competent and can definitely isolate it before removing the cover.

A year or so I bought a new programmer as I was getting interference on the TV and it was suggested this may be the cause.
It was a Honeywell one so I bought the same make but a current model for easy installation. Wrong - wiring was all different and I didn't want to foc up the new boiler so a local sparky charged me £40 to wire it in.

Cured the TV problem as well !!

just been to b&q and bought new programmer and thermostat...themo is the same and will fit original wall plate.....programmer is updated version which they say will work....going to check drayton website before i fit.....

If you are going to diy make a note of the connections before you start , just in case you have to call in a sparky .

all fitted and working.thanks for all replys....nice and toasty now.the old thermostst was stuck at full throttle so iam hoping my mpg has improved......will check this afternoon  Wink
