Or keep your mouth shut lol
Wot a wolly. Boasting about speeding on a public forum is a way bad idea. Almost as worrying as posting videos on YouTube.

They never stand for perverting the course of justice, instant jail time for doing so!
Some say...
I'm waiting to see if the "safety" camera van got me yesterday, thing was I'd been having a ride round sticking to all the limits, just left a 40 limit give it a bit of gas went over 60 checked speed back down to 60 then saw speed van in lay by, I've looked on google maps and think I was over 500m away?
It's getting so you'll spend all the time watching your speedo and not the road?
Last Monday on a ride from Selby to Fridaythorpe they had the speed camera van near Elvington, at Fridaythorpe there were 2 marked police cars, what looked like an unmarked police car and 2 marked police motorbikes, I wonder if they were all on double time + a day off, well it was a bank holiday?
May be irresponsible, but I hate riding to speed limits - on a Fazer especially. Never do. OK, near schools, etc, but otherwise - never. If they ever start imposing speed limits on motorcycles here, I'll just stick to my bicycle. Those limits are for slow, poor drivers - ridiculously slow.
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.
I'll stick to 20,30,40 religiously, 50 less so. 60 and 70 I'm 'flexible'

Never speed near Schools Hospitals and crossings.
B roads well its silly to go so fast you cannot stop in time if needed.
But flowing A roads and light traffic.. Bring it on.
Warning:-
Devon now has unmarked cars operating on the A30 and A38 - the give away is the rear quarter behind the rear doors. D & C Police road safety unit. Contact number and web site.
Better give away is two blokes in dark clothing and silver bits on their shoulders. Tasty car driven just below the limit.
Keep your eyes on the traffic and the signs and ride smooth.
Never had a Yamaha before - the F 1000 is my first!
Using it for training and all private trips. No Car.

Welcome to the site :-). I also look for excessive lights, boxes on the parcel shelf, antenna, and stationary cars which are new, too clean and powerful. It's always worth a look at the drivers whenever you overtake in case you decide to twist the wrist.

+1 quick question though, not far from me the M25 is undergoing road works and has one of those 'average speed camera' systems set up, now I know the cameras face forward, so to speak, so it's unlikely a bike would get caught but i usually slow down to the same speed as the cars just so I don't p*ss everyone off - but I'm surprised at the number of cars that speed though them - do the systems actually work? Does anyone know of anyone getting a ticket from them? S
Someone sent me a postcard picture of the earth. On the back it said, "Wish you were here."

I've never got a ticket from a specs camera installation but then I don't speed through them, bike or not. Some people will speed and then find that when they don't get a ticket they ignore them. It depends really on the threshold that they've set the ticketing system to. On a road like the m25 ticketing people for 10% would be bad PR. It may be the threshold is 70. I wouldn't risk any more than the 10% tbh.

Here's a report on the Average Speed Cameras on the M275 in Portsmouth: Hundreds caught speeding on M275
Like Simon I pretty much stick to 30, 40, and 50 zones, national speed limits are 'make progress' roads.
Around here all the side roads in residential areas are now 20mph. It just isn't worth speeding in built up areas. If you hit a kid, or anyone for that matter, bikes are really unforgiving to pedestrians, and above 30 you stand a good chance of killing them. Even if you 'clip' a pedestrian, cyclist, car door you'll be then out of control. Then its unpredictable where you and 200kg of metal travelling at over 30 go. And we all know who gets the blame when a bikers involved!!
If your caught speeding in residential areas, its open and shut, there's no excuse! Like I said, it just ain't worth it.
