My gen 2 2002 fazer 600 has started playing up yesterday.
It was a very wet day yesterday and while out on my bike it started misfiring and only running what I think is either 2 or 3 cylinders.
it was running rough at tickover and when trying to accelerate it wound not pull and was misfiring badly, I thought it might be dampness so I made it home and put it in garage,
I started it this morning and it seems to run on four cyclinders on tickover but when I go out on it, it seems to be misfiring so I have put it back in garage , any ideas would help, thanks
Pull back the rubbers on the top of the caps where they attach to the coil wires, tighten them up and spray it with WD40 before putting it all back together will help in the prevention.

hi guys,
just a quick update and to say thanks for your help,
I noticed the 2 rubber flaps were right in front of the spark plugs and directing water into the spark plug well, so I pulled them out and put in the correct place over the top of the engine.
I removed all my plug caps and sprayed inside and basically all over with wd 40, took the bike a good 10 mile run and it is now running sweet as a nut, thanks again.

I think you'll find that the correct place for the rubbers is exactly where they were!!
When they're in front of the plugs they are forcing water down into the engine drainage holes, whilst shielding the plugs much more closely.

Yeah it's surprising what crud gets down by the plugs, fortunately i have a can of compressed air at hand whenever i take the plugs out to clear the area first, otherwise it can get a bit gritty, or crap can fall down the plug hole!

after further investigation you are right and the rubber flaps should be directly in front of the spark plugs.
I now think I know exactly why my bike was misfiring.
the engine drain holes are probably bunged up with gunge and therefore there was so much rain the other day, the water was not clearing from the top of the engine and building up and arcing on my plug caps,
so tomorrow Christmas day I will check my drain holes are clear
can you tell me if they are easy to see and locate and how many drain holes there should be, thanks in anticipation
