rg heated grips

Fitted these today to the winter hack i have oxford on me other bike so thought id give these a go as half the price and ride recommended

fitting was a doddle and all the connecter are well made and sturdy enough - the left grip was a bit tight and took bit of grunting to get on

instructions were poor at best but all was to simple as onle one plug fitted one socket

i mounted the controller on the inner panel altough a bar mount is in the kit

now the rub -- they get warm but noware near as good as me oxford ones i surpose 1/2 the price 1/2 the heat well seems that way and that was with bare hands on grips so next week will be the test with gloves on ill update after a weeks use

I have just bought some, waiting to be fitted to Fazer8 after having three controllers going wrong on the Oxford sets we have fitted to R1 and CBR400RR
[/size][/color]Luckily my son has worked out how to rebuild them to work again.
[/size][/color]However R&G do say to turn them to high first, then back to required setting to obtain optimum setting, as just turning to say low setting doesn't achieve this, so hoping they will be O.K :rolleyes

I've used heated grips (oxford) but now have heated inner gloves (keis) far better imo.

I had oxfords in the past, and a couple I can't remember.  Oxford were great.  Hot and never had any bother with them.  If i did winter riding again, i'd try and get heated gloves as well as grips,  as the blood supply to my left arm is pretty shite now,  and difficult to get heat into the arm.

I've got Roxter grips on both my bikes, the last ones I bought "around  £25"  have a simpler two way controller
and work better than the older 4 position ,auto cut out ones
I've had them 2 seasons now ,I've got used to the fatter feel of the bars "despite my small hands" a must for winter!

I had a set of rg and thought they were crap. Didn't heat up enough. It may be because i had to use force to get them to go on to the bars and possibly damaged them. Oxford ones are best, but another cheap option is keis heated grips, which i've had twice before and i thought for £35 was great value for money.
