What's better, LoveFilm or Netflix
#1
anybody tried them yet? I'm on love film but getting fed up with sending the DVD's back etc and end up not using it as much as I could. So I bought the wife a Kindle Fire HD for Xmas (a bit sneaky but HEY!) with the intention of setting up an on line film account as it has an HDMI out to the TV.

Apparenty she can read books off it as well,,,,,,,,,,

I used to be a fan of Lovefilm and have had hundreds of DVDs off them in the past. Unfortunately in the last few months I was with them I had rather a lot of scratched/moisture damaged/duff discs from them. There's nothing worse than settling down to watch a film and havng the disc go all Norman Collier and/or refuse to play. So I cancelled my subscription to them.

Netflix has the better selection for the most part, especially if you have American settings. If you are streaming through the xbox, that is.

Lovefilm you can get hard copies and computer games etc, but I ditched it for Netflix.

What are you watching it through?

As soon as my Kindle Fire comes, via that through the TV.

Well, lets see what happens! Was going to get a smart Blu Ray player but hopefully this will do the same thing as well as having a few more features..

Through the Xbox, you can change the DNS settings to make the netflix server think you are in the USA. The reset it from time to time but theres always new codes coming through to try it again. The american selection is waaaay better than the UK one. I am not sure if this would be possible through the Kindle fire tho, as i would imagine it woul be difficult to change the DNS setting without rooting it or summat

An X box would probably be a waste of money for me, but I'm sure the boy would love it.

Actually, I should probably check in his bed room to see if he has one already!

(me: middle aged parent etc... no clue)
