Which would you suggest.
I have an Ideal boiler. It strikes me as being one of the cheaper options. I don't rate it at all. Printed circuit board failed last year, £180 + VAT & labour to replace. This year there is another problem. Not heating water very well. Can't run a bath, 2-3 minutes of hot tap running & it goes cold. Bypass valve? Don't know but it's noisy & not all that old. I would avoid them if I were you. Just my opinion.
I have heard of a deal where you get a Worcester Bosch combi boiler supplied & fitted for £17.00 a month. Think total cost is £2K. Forget who was offering this. British gas perhaps?
It'll be a bloody miracle if BG are supplying and fitting a WB for 2k.
There's a guy in my kitchen right now, fitting a shiny new Vaillant - I had the Ideal option as well, too many horror stories when I researched. Sure they're there for Vaillant (and any other manufacturer too), but the general feeling I got was that there were far fewer complainants about Vaillant.
Plus, when I asked on here, everybody said Vaillant or WB :thumbup
vaillant every time, last time ideal made a decent boiler was about twenty years ago, google isar, icos or istor and read the horror stories.Haven't worked on a logic yet but not looking forward to it. Make sure you get a system filter fitted the same time.

Aye, thats the fella (or at least, its what is going on my system...)
I was recommended Worcester Bosch by friends in the trade and have had it now for 12 months with no problems. I went for a Greenstar 28i, which has a fixed hot water setting, but now wish I had paid the extra for the one with a temperature control (30i) as in summer it gets too hot unless you have the tap full on, which splashes water everywhere. Other than that I'm well suited with it.
Don't get British Gas to fit one unless you want to pay about twice the going rate.
I've had a vaillant ecotec 32 for about 4 yrs. Works great and is also very quiet. Hasn't let me down yet. Also got a wireless timer/stat - has three 'timezones' and you set the temp for each one, so colder at night, blast first thin gin the morning and then comes on at 16:30 for the evening. Worth getting a 7 day one though for the weekends!
Several of my friends have had a Worcester Bosch fitted so we went for this about 6 weeks ago. Very impressed and good guarantee. Got chap off Check a Trade to be on the safe side to install.
David.
Oooh - me must have one of them!
WB 28i, got mine fitted by a mate who works for himself last year, 7 rads plus wireless stat, £2100, British gas wanted £5000 for the same job. just got it serviced today, not one trace of carbon monoxide to be found....one of the best out there for the money.
Davie.........yes I am that man.
