Question I would have is what make of Heated grips are you fitting?
If Oxford one's then it is recommended (by Oxford and some Yam Dealers) to fit directly to the  battery otherwise they won't work correctly.
As far as what wire is correct i usually use a circuit tester of some description to check as I always stuff up electrics  Wink

sorry should have posted sorted it out coneected to the green wire comming out of the headlight relay under the left hand side rear panel so when the ignition is off the grips stay off as people keep turning them on and draining my battery

Thanks, just fitted my Oxford hot grips today direct to the battery, already left them on several times, so will re-wire the Poitive to that green wire I think!

try and find a switched wire comming out of the fuse box on right hand side as it will be better there should be spare fuse places to fit the wire to one that with turn on and off when the engine is switched on and off  :lol

Hmmm, seems to be too much current draw on that Green wire, I think it's cos I have the twin headlight mod, so it means the 2 headlights and grips are drawing from the same power source, I have ordered a relay now, and will consider wiring to the fromt brake switch live as apparently recommended by Honda for Heated grip wiring.

Why not just fit a relay direct from the battery and use a switch wire to activate when ignition is on?

Yer, that's what I mean, but use the brake switch wire as the ignition live.
