Which coolant?
#1
Hi , hope someone can help
My fzs is due for a coolant change , is there a certain type of coolant I should use. I have had a look on the halfords website where they recommend Halfords advance anti-freeze 5litre for £24.99 for the fazer.  My partner rides a cbr600fx (98 registered) could I use the same coolant on both bikes does anybody know?
Many Thanks

I use the red antifreeze from vauxhall,it is a longlife antifreeze and it is silicate free,I mix it with distilled water at 50/50 and it is a lot cheaper than the antifreeze from halfords, the service life of this antifreeze is 5 years and yes it is good for that long,it is also been developed for alloy engines

The Hafords advanced is fine. It's Silicate free, organic acid technology which is exactly what's recommended for pretty much any vehicle since 1998.

You do know it's cheaper to buy the concentrate and battery top up water then mix it yourself.

I bought 2 litres of the concentrate and 2 bottles of distilled water. I only need 2.4 litres for the Fazer.

Halfords trade price came in handy once again though.

Distilled water 1lt is £1.79 retail and £0.69 trade.  :lol :lol

The Antifreeze was over £2 cheaper as well  Smile

Blessed are the cracked, for they let in the light.
