Tyres for a 98 Fazer 600
#1
Just bought a 98 Fazer 600 and it will shortly need tyres. What should I go for?  Last time I had one of these bikes I remember fitting Bridgestone. Are they still the tyre of choice?
I live in my own little world. But it's ok, they know me here.

I like the Avon Storm 2 Ultra's I have on mine. Done 3.5k on them so far and they seem to be lasting well with no uneven wear as far as I can see. Had Michelin Pilot Road 2 on before which I also liked but they gradually developed a pronounced transition on the sides where the softer rubber blended into the harder rubber in the centre.  At least that's what it looked like. I like the feel of these Avon's better.

I've been using Bridgestones on mine for a few years now, liked the grip and handling of the old BT010 and the current BT012 is even better and lasts a phenomenal mileage. The only downside is the weird abrasive noise the front tyre makes.

I just had a set of Bridgestone 021's fitted, these are great can't complain, Bridgstones were what the Fazer was proved on so it makes sense.

Doh! Yes, 021s are what I'm using too... if my memory was better I'd remember not to trust it. :lol

Just been told by dealer when enquiring about price of a set of BT021 tyres that BT023 has now taken  over from them and they are even better in the wet and better mileage.

I have BT023's front and rear. Went round Rockingham in the wet, really great confidence boosters!

I looked at a previous thread on this site about the same topic, the consensus seemed to be BT023's so I got a pair, dont know about the mileage as yet but they hold the road well and Im really pleased with them

Both inlaw and myself have settled on Strorms Ultra's on our Fazers , over 7000 miles on a rear , Not beaten that that with anything previously. We don't go hard enough to have handling issues. I had Noise issue with a B21 when fitted to Front of my 600,
