Possible Missfire
#1
When pulling away from lights today I felt it was missing and only running on three for a while. Never done that before!....Should I .....
1, assume a bit of muck in the fuel and wait and see if it does it again?
2, go and give it a good thrash
3, start looking for the cause?
AIS still in place so getting the plugs out is a pain in the ass!! Sad

Check your HT leads are pressed down firm against the plug caps - one of mine wasn't & gave a weak, intermittent spark on #4 cylinder.

AIS still in place? Project to do over the Winter then...

I had exactly the same problem for ages. I had laid the bike up for about a year and assumed it was some residue in the carbs. I tried a carb cleaner additive but the intermittent problem persisted. Thought I was going to have the carbs off, but after I changed the plugs.....all was well.

It's worth atry for a few quid.

I had the same fault. I think it was a bit of damp in the plugs as I had washed the bike and not noticed one of the plug caps was a bit loose.
I changed the plugs and air filter etc which was a bit overdue but in the end I reckon it was damp in an ill fitting plug cap.
Oh and getting the plugs out is not that hard with the AIS in place if you use the tool that comes with the bike, for me it worked better than than a normal socket and extension bar.
