Ais removal kit

Thanks in advance tried getting hold of an ais removal kit from holeshot racing USA but he isn’t doing them anymore. Anybody doing them in the Uk don’t fancy tapping a tread thanks

Another option is to modify a set of the original metal AIS pipes by cutting them 2" above the ends and folding them over. I have a set of these -

When I did mine I seem to recall a tap in a socket on an extention was an absolute doddle and made a tidy job of it.

If you know a friendly engineering shop, I have the dimensions of the Holeshot caps, if that's any help.

just fitted my ivans ais removal kit easy job.i also fitted a set of new iridium plugs now the bike wont run on all 4 cylinders.could it be a faulty plug or something else thanks

I’d have stuck with a new set of oe plugs personally.

I've used Iridium plugs with no issues. As  you've disturbed the plug caps I think it might be worth unscrewing them and trimming the HT leads by enough so that when you screw the plug caps back on they are going into fresh lead, the ends are known to deteriorate over time and not connect properly, so this could fix your problem.

Holeshot doesn't do them/deliver to the UK anymore, as per Dales email yesterday. Also had a look at the Ivans kit but it wouldn't give me the option to actually purchase it.

Hi and welcome.


You don't need a kit to do this and going the DIY route will save you a packet, particularly if importing from the USA.

It's easy enough to tap the spigots and fit cap bolts.  You just need a decent quality tapered HSS tap. 


You can close off the airbox with a plastic bottle cap or similar.


The vacuum hose from the carbs can be cut off and plugged with a bolt or you can buy one of the OE vacuum spigot caps from a Yamaha dealer.
