Last whizz out today for this year on the Fazer. We decided to visit the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne near Folkestone. After gassing up at the Shell garage next to the Oakdene cafe, it was off down 7 Mile Lane and southwards on Kents finest A and B roads. All went well until, whilst negotiating a large roundabout above the bottom section of the M20, we lost our tailend Charlie, as a column of trucks had obscured our exit onto the M20.
The series of roundabouts on the outskirts of Folkestone always seem to cause navigating problems, and today was no exception. It was now my turn to get "lost". The day was morphing into a typical LOFO day out :lol . With the aid of the Garmin and several farm track excursions, I made it to the Memorial. On checking my phone I learnt the others had been and gone, which was understandable due to the time I'd taken being lost. The next stop was Mickeys Rock Cafe at Detling. I couldn't be bothered to sort out a decent route to get there, so just M20'd it up to Maidstone.
I'd just finished my bacon buttie when they rocked up, and I was gutted to learn I'd missed out on a final whizz through the Chilham Bends for this year. On the way home I brimmed the tank with 99 octane, plus a dose of Sta-Bil, which should see the Fazer through her hibernation over the next few months. I've got a few cosmetic jobs I'd like to get done over the winter, and then, after a service and a new back tyre, hopefully do it all over again next year. Maybe even getting in a trip abroad, which I sorely missed this year. The rear Roadtec 01 gave me 5,989 miles of safe and reliable fun, and will replace it with the later SE version, ready for next year. The 193 miles done today, certainly committed it to the knackers yard.

Since I fitted some Renthal bars I've had to fit their bar ends which are much to light for purpose ,just look good cosmetically .Today I cut the original bars and got the inserts out, these are mounted in rubber and pressed into the ends of the bars,I managed to get the sleeves off and filed the rubber down until it was a tightish fit in the renthal bars, then put some contact adhesive on the inserts and handlebar ends and will leave it now until tomorrow before loctiting the screws and nipping them up and hope they don't move,at least now I'll have some nice weighty bar ends back and no vibes. :thumbup

Did anyone of you did conversion from 298 front brake discs to 320 discs on you fazer please?
I am trying to find the caliper spacers to fit with standard calipers.

I am currently playing with electrical things.
I have fitted new led turn lights and led tail light too.
My front lights are very weak, so I am trying to solve this issue. I have found an article on one German sight, where a guy added new shorter cables to supply the lights.
Earth cable is ease, just to put short cable from the left head lamp and attached it to the frame.
The plus cable is bit more difficult, I added new cable from fuses to the head lamp relay.
I must say, that the head lamp lights visibly better. However, I have got an issue, that the electric is on even the key is in Off or lock position. I have realized, that if I disconnect the plus cable, the electric is off.

Did anyone try this mod in the past please? Here is the sourcehttp://cvieth.bplaced.net/motorrad_licht.html
Edit: one more information. Currently, my carbs and fuel tank are out of the bike as I am cleaning the carbs and about to fit the Ivans kit.
So, could be the issue above related to the fact, that the TPS, fuel pump and the fuel tank are disconnected?

ok, so the issue is solved now.The problem was my weak German, so I did not translate the article properly before. Once I did it properly I found out, that the old "plus" cable has to be disconected completely from the head lamp relay and the new cable attached instead of the old one.Now everything runs perfectly. So I hope that all my electric related mods are done now.

How much is the powder coating costing?

MY FZ6's fork lowers are looking rather beaten up thanks to road grit etc. I was thinking of respraying them, but if powder coating isn't too expensive...

[/quote]That's good. For that price compaired to how how crap and easily chipped doing it yourself with a rattle can is and all the cleaning sanding, its not worth doing yourself.

Will check on the center stand, but what leads you to think that? I On the side stand you wont see an oil level.

Looks like nice clean oil but over filled. Might be lack of oil in the sightglass with stained metal/glass though.
