Don't think it's a Sportster. Looks like a 1340 engine, Sportsters were either 883 or 1200, and it's a US import due to the reflectors on the forks.

Definitely is a Sportster, the crankcases on the bigger engines are completely different and UK spec bikes have those reflectors as standard.

lol yeah its a sporster lump. ive got a 1340 and it looks very different. I dont like sporties, but they sound a lot more like an old school harley than any of the 'big twins' built from about 2000 on once they went to twin cam, and then Fi.

Ok, a Sportster it is :lol . The pic makes the engine seem bigger than it is, although the forks are skinny with a single disc. Maybe a Hugger as it sits quite low. The tank looks massive too. Maybe it's quite a late one as my '91 didn't have reflectors on the forks.
