Early headsup for this years Pioneer Run March 22nd .

LOFOs. March 22nd will be the 81st year of running the event for pre 1915 motorcycles. Starting from Tattenham Corner on Epsom Downs, the first bike departs at 8am. This years finishing line is at Brighton City Airport, in an attempt to avoid the normal high build up of traffic which severely baulks these old bikes. There's a tea hut by the starting area.

I've put it my diary, also weather permitting.

Last time I went was about 1975 :eek

Pre 1915 bikes were called 'recent models' then  Smile

Was looking forward to Margate Meltdown and Yamaha Day at the Ace. I'll be surprised if any of these go ahead. As I posted elsewhere, if you fill up at a card pump keeping your gloves on, then you can have a pleasant ride on your own, without interacting with anyone else. That's my plan.
