Hello all,
I changed my spark plugs for some CR8EIX iridium plugs and the bike seemed a lot quicker, great improvement.
However after 20 miles the radiator developed a hole and sprayed coolant everywhere. I'm waiting on a replacement radiator but do you think it could be linked to the change of plugs?
Without knowing more I would say no. They're entirely different circuits. There is a chance that the engine was maybe running a bit hotter with the new plugs but it's not the first place I would look. Was it the first good run in a while? Where is the damage on the radiator? Maybe a stone or something flew into it at speed.
Good luck with fitting the new radiator.
Won't be related to the plugs, just a coincidence.
Once the new red is fitting flush the system with Radflush before putting coolant in, you may have had a blocked system that may have contributed towards it, although there could be other reasons of course.
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.
Thanks, yeah I didn't think so too. If it was running hotter/ too hot it should just boil out the overflow. I agree , prob just a stone and a coincidence.
I had to drive it a good mile with no coolant to get it somewhere safe to park so hopefully I haven't cooked the head gasket as well. The fan was coming on for most the journey
Only related to the plugs if you wacked the radiator taking the plugs out!

Most likely you had a gravel from the wheel which hit the radiator. It happened with a friend of mine.
