Then back down on the A470 via Llangurig and Rhayader, turning off at Newbridge-on-Wye onto the amazing B4358 to Beulah, then on to Llandovery for a cuppa at the West End Cafe, before heading home.

Took the FZ1 for it's MOT passed no advisories 2 weeks ago took the RF900 passed no adviseries. Was confident they would pass, but even so think I'd sooner go to the dentist for a check up.
First ride in 10 days or so… poor old thing needs some work doing (2nd gear issue rearing its ugly head again), but it got through the MOT with a few minor advisories.
Fitted the replacement stainless exhaust flange nuts, but noticed they were 3mm shallower that the OE steel ones. This meant rather a lot of thread was left exposed, so a quick trip down to Toolstation for some 8mm stainless domed nuts, a liberal coating of copper grease, problem solved.

First breakfast run since getting the Fazer back on the road. Nice early 7 o'clock start so plenty of high jinks. Breakfast at the 1066 on A21, 160 mile round trip and a cheeky pint on the way home.

Yesterday, actually. To avoid the mayhem of heavy traffic in North Wales, I headed in the opposite direction towards Shropshire and Staffordshire. Streams of cars, motorbikes, campervans, caravans, coming towards me, but virtually empty roads in front of me. I headed to Whitchurch, Audlem, Market Drayton, Loggerheads, Eccleshall, Stone, Uttoxeter, Rugeley. I decided to go to a cafe at Chasewater, near Cannock, so headed to Hednesford, which is where I am from originally. In Hednesford I noticed a gathering of bikers outside the Victoria Working Mens Club so I stopped to see what was going on. I ended up staying there for two and a half hours. It was the Hednesford Motorcycle Club hosting the MZ Owners Club. I told them that I was heading for a cafe and they said don't bother as I could have food and drink with them. There was a barbecue, bar, tea and coffee. What a friendly group of people they were. They said that I was welcome to come to any of their gatherings, 1st Sunday of the month for this one. To top things off, I told them that my late Grandfather had been the local GP. Several of the group remembered him and had been treated by him.
I made my way back to Wrexham through Staffordshire and Shropshire, a total of 160 miles on very quiet roads. One of the best days out I have had for a while and I shall be returning to the Hednesford Motorcycle Club. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me.
MrAnquetil , yesterday you went to my old stamping ground I to was born in hednesford moved to Cannock as a child spent most of my adult there I'm in bloxwich now , the club in broardway is 50yards from my cousins house and a pal of mine has been in that club for many years small world eh !
Went up to the Ponderoasa for a sausage sandwich via the Raven Cafe for a cuppa, Llangollen and the Horseshoe Pass. Left everyone i went with there and rode home on my own via the A534 because i wanted a bit of a play.
Looked at the bike in the garage patted the fuel tank, picked up my shovel and trowel and got on with a retaining wall in the garden. trying to convince myself it was to hot to go out on the bike, but just right to lay 500/600 bricks. Still turned out decent day after all, a compromise though 350 bricks laid, British superbikes watched, & 3 ice cold packs of beer drunk. Hic

Hi fatbloke62. Small world indeed ! My cousins, who now live at Slitting Mill, owned the indoor Go- Kart track at Bloxwich until fairly recently, and my Aunt and Uncle live at Short Heath, Willenhall. I come back 'home' regularly even though it is many years since I lived in the area. Really miss visiting Castlewood cafe on the A518 between Weston and Uttoxeter. A real bikers cafe, now shut down. Still looking for a replacement in the area.
I took my fazer on a trip to south/north uist then across to harris and lewis on the outer hebrides. It was faultless yet again. Best all rounder bar none...
Started with an Oil & Filter change, new spark plugs (these had done 25K +), fitted a pair of PR4's and finished with a general spruce up.
Gave it a good check over and will be needing a chain & sprockets at the end of the year (it will have covered 20K + by then :'( ) and more than likely remove all the brake calipers, clean and reseal as required and new brake fluid. Also on the cards will be an EXUP service. It functions and operates correctly, but is a little rattlely when "blipping".
Spark plugs were a little fiddly, but I've still got the AIS fitted. Nothing that a 1/4" socket set couldn't cope with though. Found that by raising the tank, I could use an extension with a 14mm socket mated to the Yamaha supplied spark plug tool - simples.
Out tomorrow to scrub in the new rubber.
A bit delayed, sorry, as this rideout happened on Bank Holiday Monday.
Stopped off at Oasis Cafe, Abergavenny, at about 11:00 and it was just starting to fill up with bikes.
A beautiful, sunny, warm day with all us fellow bikers out there enjoying it 8)
