I was in a hotel restaurant having breakfast last summer and a bloke and his partner were only putting their phones down long enough to take another forkful of food, then immediately continuing texting.

Now this got my goat, but why?.

It had no bearing on me and didn't affect my meal in any way.

So why was it so foccing irritating to watch??!

Because it is so foccing irritating thats why, too many people addicted to shit like facebook and twitter, they seem to have no idea how to have a real conversation with a real person.
When we take the grandkids out for a meal I have a rule, food or phone, choose one. So far they have always picked food Smile

Phones taste horrible, that’s why  :lol

Tea bags that are as weak as p*ss and taste less, and it doesn't seem to matter which brand you buy or how much you pay. Yes I do know how to make a good cuppa first thing I learnt as an apprentice brickie.

Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

That was my point you have to use 2 now to get a half decent cuppa were as a few years ago 1 would do the trick.

We love strong tea in our house and only use Marks & Spencer Extra Strong Tea Bags. A bit more expensive than other tea bags at £5 for 240 but well worth the extra.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

Well that doesn't work as I was in Waitrose today and brought 2 nets of satsumas and got them back to Sharp hall to find a rotten one in each net.

We buy  catering teabags from Costco that are described as 2 cup, I find they make one nice strong mug of tea, brand names such as Tetley and Typhoo.

Thinking that you've just had a good day at work and then being told you're redundant (as of now) just as you're about to go home.

What? Isn't that questionably legal?

If that's just happened Mungus I'm really sorry to hear it, especially this close to Christmas.
I always try to give at least a week's notice and try to give a heads up a week before that if I can and never during the holiday period.

It is legal because I've only been there for 18 months - I think the official term is "Laid off" but it amounts to the same thing.
I'm being paid until the end of the week + my holiday entitlement.
Yep, it's crap but it's a small family business and I think he's going to go down the pan altogether before too long.
I liked the boss, he is also a biker, and I feel sad for both of us. He is facing a larger financial ruin than I am.
