Yesterday was a beautiful crisp blue sky day in the south, so had a day out on the Speed Triple to follow the annual Veteran Car Run down to Brighton.Called in at The Chalet on the way, never been served so fast. All in all a good day out and the newly fitted heated grips certainly paid off on a few occasions.

That looks really cool ? if I had one bit of advice it would be to remove the Xmas child from the side, should save you a good few MPG on wind resistance alone ?

Well,my annual trip to the Dragon Rally didn't quite work out as it normally does. My pal (1050 Tiger) and I left south London at 7am, the check-in destination being next to Conwy Castle, a familiar trip west on the A5. However I was quite surprised at the number of bikes heading east towards England, when we were about 50 miles from Conwy. At the Conwy MCC check-in, the rally venue was revealed to be Beddgelert, in the heart of Snowdownia ,alongside a lake.
On arrival at the rally site, it was patently obvious that all the high ground camping spots were already taken. What was left was, as good as damn it, under water. After collecting our rally badge/goody bag and with 340 miles showing on the trip meter, we decided to ride home.
Light was fading and the rain fairly incessant, so we opted for the motorway, as there would be no pleasure gained from retracing our route across country. After a mind numbing slog down the M54/42/40/25, I rolled onto my drive with 614 miles on the trip, and strangely pleased that I could still put in a fair shift on a bike despite my advancing years. :lol
My new Gerbing heated gloves had a severe work out and came through with flying colours, so all in all an "eventful" day.
