Sorry to hear that taylor, how old is the old boy?
Is he still mobile?
And does he have his marbles still?
I'm interested cos I worked in a care home for about 8 years as a change from building work during a slump in the 1990's. My second question is the most important about him still being compos mentis, if he still has a sharp mind it might be hard for him. How close is the care home to your home? Hope you don't mind me asking? it is personal I know but then you did post it in here so I guess it's OK.
his marbles have gone tommy, in the last month he has seen father xmas , the queen, and has a armed guard on his room, also he had a dog under his bed in hospital lol. he is 80 still fit. he only stopped going to the pub every day about 6 months ago when he started to get lost on the way home. lol. he worked all his life they have taken all his money to pay for this private pensions the lot. he is left with 7,50 a week, but they bloke in the next bed never worked and has it all paid for him. good old great Britain.

After a six month lay off, (in sympathy of my brother having his Husky stolen) had a day out on the DRZ with a few others and hit the green lanes.
Felt like a complete novice at first and found myself lagging behind at my own pace till I felt confident on the slippery stuff.
Feeling it now mind you.
After a particularly gnarly lane on the way home we came across a black ford fiesta wedged across the lane, progress halted by a fallen tree.
I naturally assumed it had been stolen and dumped ......BUT I shit you not, sat in the drivers seat was a woman who thought she'd take a short cut :eek How the fuck she got it that far I'll never know and apparently she was a school teacher :eek
Rather than reverse until she found a suitable place (about 40-50 meters the way she'd come) to do a 3 point turn, she had tried to do it in a heavily rutted bit with trees and a drop one side and a bank the other.
We managed to straighten her up, reverse it back and turn it around so she could drive it back the way she had come.
Should've took some photos of her predicament to show the level of her Darwinian achievement.
Took the Ducati Scrambler for its first ride , what a fantastic bike to ride , light and nimble , which makes filtering easy , stickcs to the road like shit to a blanket , don't know if it's the tyres or the suspension which gave me so much confidence in the corners , great torquey engine , I have to keep it under 6k revs , that's 80 in 6th until its run in , sounds great , 140 miles to a tank , a screen would improve it if doing lots of motorways or long distances , I would recommend foccers getting in touch with a dealer and booking their test ride .
It has a low thermal fingerprint lads which i hear is good for.........staying warm
Just gotta get the polythene layer sorted out so the spatters dont stay on the walls....from my pot noodle juice, always put too much water in :lol
She'll be some machine when shes finished, worthy of these pages i reckon, something different. Got a few windows to go in, massive rear step is at the powder coaters & theyre also sorting out a spare wheel mechanism that folds down.

Might be a silly question but can you buy them stock with jacked up suspension and is it 4x4?
It's a proper job 4x4, switches on the dash for the diff's. Merc shipped them off to a company called Oberaigner and they fitted them out....I think the cheapest set up would have been about 25k on top of the original van cost....haven't heard of any of the non 4x4's being jacked up although in theory you should be able to get all the parts but because they are so rare they are gonna be brand spanking mega bucks to get hold of.
VW do 4x4 versions of their small vans too but I think they are also mega money.
It is a major project and I wouldn't have forked out the money that I've spent on bodywork and spraying if it hadn't have been the 4x4 version, at least it has some prestige and so I should always make my money back. the body's on Sprinters are terrible for rust it is everywhere and even after all of the work I fully anticipate further touch ups over the years....chassis is rock solid though and the underside is now all done in chassis armour paint too.
And by the way.....not fulling giving up on squeezing a bike in the back of it.....might just get one in there if I'm crafty enough with the interior design but it'll still be behind the bulkhead and at an angle.....how much of an angle is the issue and whether the front wheel will then be blocked by the furniture...maybe utilise a centre stand dolley type thing......im not giving up all hope anyway just yet.....my kayak is too long to fit inside but to get a bike in there even if just to take for its mot in winter or whatever would be a major advantage.

Stripped-down and rebuilt the ZZR front calipers, 7 out of 8 piston's seized and the last didn't exactly fall out. Was lucky to get away with reusing the piston's and seals. Focin no way that thing should have passed an mot
