Spitfire fuel diamond
#1
I saw this at the bike show , I didn't buy but as I don't use my bike much at the mo and lay up over winter it's been crossing my mind, I spoke to a guy at Essex performance the other week who really got animated on ethanol in motorcycle carbs, telling me how much it blocks up the small passageways and leaves a film behind and how bad it is. I don't know if he was trying to scare me to book the bike in but it made me think of this product.
Anyone got one/used one is it snake oil ? Or could it be kosher and work ? Or could it be worth a punt

I'd guess it's just a blob of magnesium. It'll certainly react with any water...  and turn it into a crumbly white dust (something like a fragile Rennie). Whether you think that's better than alternative stabilisers or draining the tank is your choice.

Can't remember what the chappie told me the composition of it was but think I remember him saying silver was in it to stop bacteria that builds up with the water also that it was a composition of 3 things.
I suppose it's a product that if you have faith it you'll swear it works but is probably snake oil that's only benefit is that it increases the bank balance of the person selling it. Maybe I'm just looking for a fix to the annoyances I have with my bike that may or may not be how it is.

It looks like a snake oil product similar to the magnets you put around fuel pipes to improve the flow of the fuel (by aligning the electrons or some bollox), reduce fuel consumption (as the fuel is now flowing properly) and improve emissions (as the fuel now burns properly)

The company I worked for at the time gave all company car drivers one. those that did fit the things noticed no difference. those that didn't fit them (like me) just threw the things in the bin.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again
