how much is my bike worth??
#1
looking at selling the old girl on within the next couple of weeks, i'm leaving the country soon and will buying  another bike when i'm settled and steady, plus bikes are cheap where i'm going (Guernsey) so i can pick up a low mileage example of something for not much outlay.
so,, she's a 1998 model on an S plate, just coming up to 30,000 miles. she has a rad guard, fender extender, tribo seat cover, stainless down pipes and carbon effect end can, she also has headlamp shields that are not currently fitted.
the top fairing has been cut down due to too many cracks ( she was a cat D a few years back and had cosmetic damage and the original fairing was repaired/glassed up but had cracked over the years) so I trimmed it back and secured it firmly.
she has 8 months MOT and has just had a new battery, all tyres and consumables are in top notch condition ( the rear tyre has about 300 miles on it BT010 Battlax) and she will also come with original mirrors and bars plus the fairing brackets etc.

I know that some people expect the world for their bikes and refuse to shift on a price that they have in mind, i have no clue of its worth and trust you guys to give me an honest opinion of its value.

so , what price should i be looking for guys? it's going to be listed on here when i have no more need of it  :'(

It's a good time to sell and the bike looks tidy but saying that I t-shirt still a cat D.
Quick sale I'd say £800 give or take a few quid and a max of £1000 poss £1100 if you can hold out.

Looks a nice bike make a great commuter, might even be tempted myself.

You've made an ugly bike even uglier.

£600 and that is being generous.

tbh, someone will pay more for it if you are willing to wait but....

New fairing and mirrors needed to bring it back and the fact it was a CatD would probably be £5-600 tops
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

I'd guess around £600 too. It looks like it'd need a fair bit of time and money to get the fairing sorted... missing upper mounts, mirrors etc.
Is that unattractive cover hiding a bent radiator?
It may be a low mileage tyre, but the BT010 isn't current... what are the dates of manufacture?

No mate that ugly cover is covering the undamaged rad lol and the mirrors. Bars fairing stays etc all come with it. It only needs a top fairing .screen and infills. I think £500 to £600 is a bit on the pessimistic side. I reckon £750 to get it gone.

You dindnt mention that the tank has had a respray, did you do the Cat D damage.
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

I'd go with that, £600 or up to £850 if it has a full service history, recent mot, chain, tyres and the exhaust studs in good condition.

I think the whole bike had a respray. It was cosmetic damage not a bent into pieces chop shop affair . I'm sure 750 is a fair price still ?

If I was you I'd invest in a front fairing that's the only thing letting the bike down. You'd sell it quicker and be able to ask a higher price with the standard fairing. There's one on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/yamaha-600-faz...Sw241YmMPS

Cheers mate. I'm  not bothered about monopolising on its full potential. I think I'll  just try it sell on here as a good honest little commuter if not I'll count ot out on ebay

I would think it is worth the asking price 750 quid.
You would get a set of stainless headers 220 quid to buy new, a sports can and a lump that has only done 30K miles £250? A decent set of front forks cost you 120 quid on evilbay. Plus all the other stuff that goes for stupid money
I reckon you would get your money if you broke it for spares, but I guess time is your limiting factor.

What is this strange foreign currency you're talking of ? Bobs and D's and shillingses and thrupences ??? how many D's are there in a bob ?? Or how many shillings make a thrupence ???
Re the bike , Cat D plus mods that de value it ( fairing , paint , rad cover ) I'd agree with about the £600 or more if you break it , sorry but it's about how I'd see it although I've seen shite damaged repairable cat C's go on Surrey salvage for £550 and more
