It's the place what YamFazFan said, looking on google maps. Although it's a long way to go for not many bends, and what looks like a dirt track to get to.

Here's what the guy on the other forum who lives in Snowdonia said:

It's the dam at Moelwyn Bach, near Ffestiniog. The pic has been photoshopped somewhat; nice walking territory but not quite as benign as the image suggests.

It attracts a lot of bikers to the area, but then, turn a corner here and you're generally staring at something wet and hilly :-) 

On Sundays droves of bikers in convoy do the Ffestiniog circuit.
