Raleigh Runabout bought 1974 with seized engine for a fiver spare engine bought for a quid hand painted by my mum in the kitchen, I then traded it in she wasn't impressed.
Honda SS50 4 speed indestructible but slow Fizzy owners laughed a lot. GT185 Suzuki quite nice except against the wind my mates CB200 left it for dead he was two up. CB400F Loved it. CB750FB great looking bike but very tall fell off a lot at stand still, weaved over 80 ok two up. I was a lot lighter back then. CB400NC Superdream really very good used it as dispatch bike for a while cruised all day at 80 and handled ok. sounded awful though. GSX400F Suzi looked ace but no faster than the CB400F. VF400F Very fast for a 400 handled well complicated to service. GPZ750A5 Last one with the full fairing lovely bike. CB750FX First of the Double OHC with 4/4 pipes jap import very smooth and handled better than the FB. GPZ550A4 Another great Kwack should have kept it. 955 Sprint ST. Lovely engine gave me pins and needles in my wrist, getting old now. FZS600 fox eye. What can I say that hasn't been said riding position of an 80's bike plus modern handling and engine lovely on fast A roads nip and tuck. FZS1000 As above plus that engine best bike (so far)

Love reading about guys bikes, their likes and dislikes. Expeiriences and preferences. My FZS 600 is the best I have owned and close second was a Honda 400 4 F, no where near as quick but an easy bike to ride.

[/quote] in my defense, some have been bought purely to sell on ![]() bought a gsxr 750 srad a few years back with a stripped sump plug thread for £500, sorted the sump and sold on for £1800, bought and sold a TDM 850 in less than 24 hours too. had my cbr 600 for three months, and my zx9r for four. actually come to think of it, i may have issues in long term ownership :eek my Fazer will be up for grabs soon as i'm moving to the Channel islands in the upcoming few months ![]()
my momma always says, stupid is as stupid does.
that's all i gotta say about that

This was 29 years ago, She was riding through Kearsley on her way to work in Manchester when a wagon decided to do a U turn in front of her. The bike was a mess but she got away with just a broken finger !

1980. Honda CB200, did about 8000 miles on it in my first 9 months of motorcycling, good bike but I killed it, lack of maintenance plus had to rev nuts off it trying to keep up with my mate on his RD200.
1981. Honda CB200, did about 14000 miles on this one in my second nine months of motorcycling, killed it as above. 1982. Honda CJ250T, about 7000 miles, how I managed to keep this bike for a full year is a mystery, hated it, must be one of the worst bikes ever produced from the land of the rising sun. 1982. Honda C50 (winter bike), loved it, had a few of em over the years but that first one was the best!! Yes I know I'm a saddo!!. 1983. Yamaha RD250LC, loved it, should never have let my cousin bug me into selling it to him, he managed to cartwheel it through a shop window and wrote it off. 1984. Suzuki GS1000E, took a while to get into it after the LC but got used to it and got to like it, stripped it down winter of 84 with intention of putting it in harris frame, ended up selling it in bits to fund proddy racing. 1985. Yamaha RD250LC, bought it to start proddy racing, also used on road at same time, got stolen. 1985. Yamaha RD250LC, bought as a proddy racer, sold as a proddy racer, never used it on road legally!!. 1985. Yamaha RD200, bought just as runaround but ended up using it for a couple of years, good little bike. 1987. Yamaha YPVS350F1, originally bought with the intention of putting on the racetrack but never did, rode it for about 4 years, excellent bike, had well over 40000 miles on clock when sold it to a mate, another one I should have never sold. 1991. Yamaha XJ600, bought brand new, did about 30000 miles on it in the first couple of years but spent most of its life neglected and unloved in the corner of the garage, not bad bike I suppose but never did much for me, finally got round to flogging it couple of years ago. 1995. Suzuki X7, bought it as an restoration project, ended up putting a few miles on it, fun to ride but scary at anything like speed, realised how brave them X7 lads was who I used to dice with in the eighties, got stolen, bugger!!!. Sometime in nineties, Honda 250 Superdream, least said the better. 2004. Yamaha FZS1000. Bought brand new, love it, simple as, 82000 miles motorcycling joy, would never sell this one. 2014. Yamaha XTZ660. Bought it because fancied something a bit different to the fazer, took me a while to get into it but grown to like it, put about 20000 miles on it in last couple of years, the fazer still my favourite but this ones also a keeper as well.

82k on the Fazer! That's a good load of miles, was there a regular commute that contributed?

My journey to the Fazer is pretty short, open front door, walk 20 yards to garage, open garage door and there it is
