Journey to the Fazer
#1
I'm always interested to read about people's bike ownership history and the journey they have been on to arrive at their current bike or collection of bikes, so in the interest of discovering the sort of bikes us Fazer owners have previously owned I have started this thread.

A simple list from start to present is good, and if you want to expand with explanation/photos at any point, even better! Ok, I'll begin. Prepare for a rather unusual and somewhat repetative v twin onslaught ...

2004 - present

Honda NSR125 (92)
Kawasaki GPZ500 (02)
Honda Firestorm (98)
Yamaha R1 (99)
Honda Firestorm (02)
Aprilia RSV Mille (02) crashed
April RSV Mille (01)
Aprilia Falco (01)
Aprilia Falco (00) stolen  :'(
Aprilia Falco (01)
Honda SP2 (03)
Aprilia Tuono (03)
Yamaha Fazer (04)

Had plenty of sports V twins so sticking with this lovely Fazer thou I have just purchased!

Feel free to post your bike ownership history below, the year you owned your first bike and the production year of each bike would helpful for readers.

Thanks in advance!

1959 175cc BSA Bantam Red 2 stroke single 3 speed (£32) S/hand
1966 175cc BSA Bantam D7 Silver 2 stroke single 4 speed (£123-19 shillings) Brand new from Pascals of Guildford, Passed test 3 months after purchase, why oh why!
1953 500cc BSA Star Twin, plunger frame, single seat, handled like a ruptured camel.
1949 350cc BSA ZB32 Single (Brilliant Bike) plunger frame, single seat, handle OKish once used to it. (350 Goldie, wish I still had it, worth a Kings Ransom now)
1957 350cc BSA B31 Single. swinging arm rear, but swinging arm bushes were rubber sandwiched between two metal tubular sleeves, not good with chain oil about.
????  250cc Ambassador 2T Twin Viliers engine, leading link front forks, swinging arm back end. was OK, went quite well about 82 MPH
1959 BSA Super Rocket 650 A10 Twin, great bike, handled OK, RRT2 close ratio gearbox, top speed 103-105mph, (Slower than the Bonnie)
1969 Honda SS 125cc, Bloody brilliant bike, died after hitting the back of a Austin Healey Sprite on the A3 at Stag Hill, I had few day in Guildford Hospital. :'(
1974 Honda 350 twin K4 (Shite) I have nothing to say.
1976 Honda 400cc 4F (Brilliant Bike)
????  Honda 250cc Single (Bought in the 70's dont recall the model number semi off road) Bit of fun.

I'm sure there are a couple more in there but it was along time ago and many dead brain cells since then.

Stopped riding in 1977

Then TADA

2003 FZS 600cc Fazer Foxeye. (Bought it three years ago £1900-00, 26K miles, after being out of the bike scene for 36 years) Woo woo! Old Bastard  :eek

And I love it I, honestly believe my Fazer is the best all rounder that I have ever ridden, does all I ask of it, and more, and it is always willing to please. :lol

Oh yes! I remember another but I am a little hesitant calling it a bike.
It was a Norman Nippy, we used to call it 'The Quick 50 RUNBESIDE' cos my mates could keep up with it by running, but I used to always win cos I never ran out of breath. 49cc twist and go with bicycle pedals. 15 or 16 mph on the flat about 25 down hill, had to pedal going up any hill or slight gradient. Battleship grey.
I had that little beaut when I was 14, the local Bobby was always threatening me, but, never actually did anything about it. Thank you PC Shopland XXX  :rollin

2000-2001: 50cc Yamaha Bwizz (MY1980 something)
2000-2002: 100cc Yamaha YB100 (MY1980 something)

2015-2016: WK 125 Sport (MY 2015) after many years of nagging and begging the wife, she finally caved and agreed to let me ride again but I had to quit smoking and stay quit otherwise I would heve to sell whatever bike or bikes I have.

2016-2017: Yamaha FZR600 (MY1990)
2016-present: Yamaha FZS600 Fazer (MY1999)
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 ???

I've had 115 bikes since starting riding nearly 30 years ago
First was a suzuki ts100, last being the fazer
In the middle are pretty much anything you can think of that came out since about 1986. Rd's fzr gpz gpx zzr bandit tdm klr kmx kdx kx cr ktm lc4 loads of gsxr's zxr zx vmax too too many to mention. A favourite bike would be impossible to choose, however my 1997 Tl 1000s with 147 bhp cdI and cut down carbon DEVIL sb2's comes somewhere close, or possibly my old 99 bandit 1216.
Always wanted a gsx 1100 efe (without fairing) and a suzuki Dr800 BIG 1989
Maybe we need another thread about bikes we aspire too

my momma always says, stupid is as stupid does.
that's all i gotta say about that
