You see this is why I keep painting and filling little holes in my black 18 year OEM ones, issues with alignment, bore size, balancing tubes, is there any that will just be a straight swap
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

I think issues are caused by the heat from welding process distorting the tubes so although they are jigged they spring back when taken out to cool off,I had simlar issues with an XT600 front pipes got partial refund from seller luckily I've got tools to do the job myself Smile

Was a hard slog but i renewed and refitted a gear lever rubber.  Confusedmash
I need a new one of those and the local stealer wanted £7+VAT
[/quote]

Gonna cost me more than that now anyway, the one i bought totally does the job but has a brand new outer diameter of 16mm, which is less than the OEM one.
Saying that, half my OEM one looked chewed to bits anyway so it doesn't really matter, but i just fancied it a tad bigger if possible.
I couldn't find the damn thing at all on the AJ Sutton site, but after a bit of research it turns out that the very large majority of gear levers use the same standard fitting measurements of 8mm inner diameter and 40mm length, so i ordered this one which i'll get in the next couple of days.

This one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ryde-Carbon-Eff...111SNDJYX5

about £35 all in, seems ok, time will tell, good so far, does what it says on the tin.

My top box overtook me one day as i slowed down near my work going through a 6' 6" width restriction.
Renntec racks have a manufacturers recommended weight limit of 2.5kg believe it or not, and i think the fact i use 2 roads daily with speed bumps to and from work took it's toll and the rack just snapped clean in half.
2.5kg does sound like feck all but i s'pose they do their own tests and come up with a safe upper limit to cover themselves.

Yes I looked into it a couple of years ago as mine is chewed up and came to the conclusion that most are a standard fit, but that ebay one I think is round but I think I am right in saying that the oem one is oval.
I wil let you pay for the ebay one and then await your in depth report with pictures and fitting instructions

You won't notice the difference whether it's round or oval, but i did notice the slightly smaller diameter on my toe.
I'm almost certain the 20mm one will be better, for me anyway.

I can't believe i just looked at the gear lever rubber i fitted the other day and it was already disintegrating at the end!

The other one has just arrived and not only does it look much more like the OEM size, albeit round in shape, the material used is much harder than the other one.
It wasn't gonna go on cold, so i put it in a cup of hot water for a couple of minutes then it pushed on straight away.
It can only be better than the first one, but i'll let you know if it also fails miserably, although i doubt it will.

removed damaged fairing and got busy with the hacksaw and sander, removed all the damaged parts and cut down the screen, altered the renthal's so they are more forward. just need to sort out mirrors and cut down the fairing infills. rad guard needs spraying black/graphite and thinking about cam covers too.
what ya reckon? doesnt look too bad in my opinion and i'm happy with it. it still offers good wind protection and the renthals are a must as I have so much wrist damage that standard bars just hurt me.
cheapy chinese exhaust still going strong, not bad for £40 eh? the finish is as good as when i bought it, no flacking etc and rivets holding strong.

Just finished fitting and testing my new leavers, they are a bit shorter than I thought they were going to be but they work so much better than the original OEM ones.

They're surprisingly good quality considering they only cost me £15 for the pair.
Next jobs to do are fit my new mirrors when they arrive then I need to find some time to fit my new Afam chain and sprocket set and finally fit my uncracked inlet manifold connecting rubbers which have been sat on the workbench for a couple of months now.
