Bar end mirrors?
#1
Do many of you have or ever had bar end mirrors on the Gen 1? Are they any good? Can you see more than the standard ones which seem to show about 30-40% of elbow?
Just wondering if there's any advantage to having them over standard as some of them actually look quite smart.
Cheers

There are also R&G bar ends as in my post for sale on ebay.

Does it not just make the bike wider and more difficult when filtering?

Because they are clamped to inside of bar end weights less so.

I would rather be able to see behind me easily than have to adjust for another 6" in width.

3" from bar end each side, or you could go with just one.

I can see the gap in front but not the car behind.

A choice only you can make :-)

I've had them on mine for the past few years and would never go back

They look really good, I think I'll take the plunge and go for it. I have the standard bars and bar ends (I tried the ultra low Renthal bars but couldn't get on with them) so will they fit to the standard OE bars/bar ends or do I need to modify or replace the the bar ends?

Never tried to fit them to standard bars and ends but cant see why not. You might have to trim grips a bit as I did due to switches locating in a hole in bars so you cant move throttle the 5mm needed .

Or go with Mick-H and use the ones that replace the bar weight.
I didn't go down this route because it gets rid of bar end weight and might increase vibration, they also add a bit more width than mine.
Some have added weight to the bars internally to get around this.

Mick-H could tell you about added vibration with dampers removed, if any ???
