All the talk of the great roads of Wales on another thread has got me slightly jealous, so I thought I'd try to piece together a route up here to compete. Not entirely unsuccessfully I might say
![]() Did do a brief detour to Wasdale again though, just for a break and the variation: ![]() ![]() Sitting gazing at the view, the mountains seemed strangely unreal, almost like they had been printed on the background of the sky. But I just can't do it all justice with my dubious photography skills. ![]() ![]() The route back home took me through Coniston, Ambleside and Keswick. Some proper tight little rollercoaster roads from Barrow to Coniston, but had one of those days where it was almost like being on rails - speeds on this bit probably rarely got over 50 or so, but even that low, these roads can catch you out. Not so today ![]()

No law on how fast you get to 70mph :lol
Hedgetrimmer would never break the speed limit even on the fast red one. To many hedges around :lol

and as slow as that silver bike to boot :pokefun :lol that post is over a week old. :lol
Fazer 1000 was feeling a bit dead and EXUP was Rattling. Had a set of Slinky Glide cables in with about 20,000 km.
they must have stretched a bit or settled as the EXUP was so far out it was hitting the exhaust at rest. Up with the tank to adjust it and ran out of adjustment before it was set up correctly, Foc :'( . Had a good old OEM set that came with a servo I bought over a year ago. Swapped them out and was able to set it up correctly. Way more adjustment available with the OEM ones. See pic. cables are exactly the same except for the adjusters. Then checked the TPS as the tank was up and that was way off also :rolleyes . Went for a short spin to fill the tank and check it out, what a difference, back to nearly pulling the arms off in 2nd and 3rd again :woot Just need a new back tyre and will be sorted for the UGP :thumbup Sportec M7 RR lasted 7000 Km, front is still good for another few 1000Km. ![]()

Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

Not today but 2 weeks in the Italian Alps: After bigger trips in the last 2 summers, went for something a bit simpler this time:
https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOA...VfSVNmVzdn My Fazer is now at 40000 miles, but still did 900 miles in one day, when I did Austria back to Bristol.

Hope you had better weather than midden and me! I'm still thinking about doing another one next month, and have just booked the bike in to have some bits done so it'll be ready, but not certain of going yet. Mine is also approaching 40k miles, but I wouldn't have a moment's hesitation in riding the thing around the world if it came to it. 40k is nothing on these if they're looked after, as you know of course. You also beat our one day return trip of about 750 miles from Austria to Gravesend, good going!

I went earlier, because i was dying for a decent bit of riding. i'd love to be Gravesend based, i'd be off to the ardennes, eifel, taunus or hunsruck much more frequently....

Midden's Gravesend based. I had to ride back up to Carlisle next day :'(
