advice needed please front wheel
#1
Hi guys went to use my bike this morning for work and I'm getting a sort of pinking noise from the front wheel? The bike has just passed it's MOT so would have thought it can't be the bearings can it?I've took the break calipers off and the noise sound's like it's coming from the spindle or bearings. Did almost 300 miles Sunday and no problem?I couldn't get the front wheel off to have a look at the wheel because I don't have a big enough hex but it I buy one tomorrow and take the wheel off is it a quick fix in a garage? I need the bike for Mike to do he's magic on Sunday.

Is there a bit of "HEDGE" stuck in the spokes of the wheel  :pokefun    :lol.....put the bike on full lock and see if theres any sideways play .ive got a hex drive if you want to pop round and borrow it    .....
One, is never going to be enough.....

Cheers red. No there's no hedge lol.cant feel any movement but it's definitely a sort of grind like something is catching  every other turn. I'll buy a hex tomorrow and see what a garage says.

Mel, I've got a hex you can borrow and I'm close than Red98, I've also got a spare front wheel if you want to try it to see if the noise goes away, it had new bearings in it beginning of last year. and yes it does have a tyre on it.

I'm in Wickford, Essex SS12 not far off your way to your boat

you can take the wheel to try it out as well if it will help, will get you to Harlow for Mike' s magic touch if yours needs to get new bearings

I'd expect a bearing or spindle-related noise to be pretty constant.  Have you got something caught up under the mudguard?

No I've checked it's definitely an intermittent noise coming from the centre of the wheel

Speedo drive on the thous is on the gearbox, not the front wheel
